Why are credit card payments not accepted?
I can not accept payments by credit card because I do not have a merchant's credit card account.  However, by using the online services of www.PayPal.com, you can make your payment with your credit card.

Does PayPal charge a fee for their service?
Yes, but I pay the fee.  Therefore, your use of PayPal is free of any charge or fee.

How long does it take to use PayPal?
Sending your payment by using PayPal takes only a few minutes.  As soon as PayPal verifies your credit card, I am notified by e-mail and I then ship your book order within one business day.  Of all the payment options available to you, using PayPal is the quickest way to get your order shipped.

Is it safe to use PayPal?
PayPal is used worldwide and is probably the most widely used method for making payments online.  I have received over a hundred payments sent to me by using PayPal and there have been no problems ... none at all.

What is the latest edition of the book and is it currently available?
The latest edition of the book is the 4th Edition, published in October of 2005, and it is available for immediate shipment.

How are book orders shipped?
Delivery to USA addresses is by the Priority Air Mail service of the U.S. Postal Service and arrives within 2-3 business days.  Delivery to non-USA addresses is by the Global Priority Air Mail service of the U.S. Postal Service whenever possible.  For countries not served by Global Priority Air Mail, regular air mail service is used.  Deliveries to non-USA addresses arrive within 6-10 business days unless delayed by customs officials.

Can orders be shipped by FedEx, UPS or other courier services?
Yes, if the buyer is willing to pay the additional cost of such services ... and that additional cost may amount to US$45 or more.


Are any price discounts offered?
A 15 percent discount is offered for orders of  5 or more copies.  No other discounts are offered to bookstores or anyone else.


Can a pro forma invoice be provided?
Yes, a pro forma invoice can be sent to you very easily and quickly as a Microsoft Word document by attaching it to an e-mail.  When you request a pro forma invoice, please provide your name, postal address and shipping address.


Are there any fees for prepayment by electronic transfer from my bank?
Yes, the book price increases by US$10 per copy because my bank charges me US$10 to receive your transfer.  Also, your bank and any intermediate banks involved in the transfer will also charge fees which you must pay.  Your bank should be instructed that my bank must receive a net amount equal to the price of the book plus US$10 ... or the book will not be shipped.


Why must payment cheques be issued by a USA bank?
Because my USA bank will not accept checks from non-USA banks until they have been "sent for collection".  That is a process that may take as long as 4 to 8 weeks and involves fees that may amount to as much as US$75.  Your cheque must be issued by a USA bank and it must contain the encoded MICR line as shown in this example:
